Recertification

After initial certification, recertification is required every three (3) years. Recertification may be achieved by asserting to continuing practice as a Professional Organizer, paying the Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF), and either (a) earning 45 organizing-related continuing education hours (CEUs), during the 3-year recertification period OR (b) retaking and passing the examination.

If the individual chooses to recertify by examination and fails, the prior certification is immediately revoked. Providing the current eligibility requirements for initial certification are met, he or she would be eligible to submit a new application for future examinations.

BCPO® will recertify the CPO® upon receipt of the recertification application, payment of all Annual Maintenance Fees, and documentation of continuing education requirements as specified by BCPO®.

The annual maintenance fee is currently $70 per year. Each CPO® will automatically receive an invoice prior to his or her anniversary date each year.
